Boulder High School Coach Accused Of Indecent Exposure

James Kozlowski Arrested Saturday

A Boulder High School teacher and coach has been arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure after two women reported seeing the man move his shorts to the side and expose garage sales in Longmont.

James Kozlowski, 45, was arrested Saturday after police said he exposed his genitals at two garage sales organized as part of a neighborhood-wide event in the north-central part of the city.

Longmont police Cmdr. Jeff Satur said the teacher apparently came to the garage sales wearing shorts and no underwear.

One of the women who called police to report the man talked to 7NEWS Sunday.

"He goes around and looks at everything on the ground. He'll kneel to the ground, one knee on the ground the other still in the air. He'll make eye contact with you and know you're looking at him and the twist his shorts to the side and let it just hang out," said the Longmont woman who hosted one of the garage sales.

She said she recognized him from a similar incident about four years ago.

Kozlowski declined to comment when reached by telephone at his home Saturday.

Boulder Valley School District spokesman Briggs Gamblin confirmed that Kozlowski is employed by the district but declined to comment on his arrest until district officials could gather more information.

"The district and administration will be reviewing the information from Longmont police first thing Monday morning and taking the appropriate personnel action," Gamblin told 7NEWS.

"I just don't want him to do that to anyone else," the victim said. "I hope he loses his job as a teacher, he doesn't need to be around kids," said the woman who called police Saturday.

Kozlowski was the head coach of the girls basketball team from 1992 until 2001. He also is the boys golf coach.
