2 Colorado Hotels, 1 Restaurant Earn 5 Stars

Forbes Travel Guide Looks At 500 Items

Two hotels and one restaurant in Colorado have earned five-star ratings in the 2012 Forbes Travel Guide.

The hotels honored with five stars are The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs and The Little Nell in Aspen.

The only restaurant earning a five-star rating in the state was the Penrose Room on the top floor at the Broadmoor. The Penrose Room offers a 3-course menu for $75 per person and a 4-course menu for $84 per person. Jackets are required for gentlemen. See the menu.

Four hotels and four restaurants in Colorado were honored with four stars:


  • The St Regis Aspen Resort
  • The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch in Avon
  • The Brown Palace Hotel in Denver
  • Four Seasons Resort Vail
  • Restaurants:

  • Restaurant Kevin Taylor in Denver
  • Mirabelle in Beaver Creek
  • Flagstaff House Restaurant in Boulder
  • Montagna in Aspen
  • The guide also ranked spas across the country. In Colorado, the Spa at the Broadmoor earned five stars. Four spas earned four stars: The Ritz-Carlton Spa in Denver, The Spa at the Brown Palace in Denver, Allegria Spa in Beaver Creek and the Bachelor Gulch Spa at the Ritz-Carlton in Avon.
