The recall for frozen vegetables that may be contaminated with Listeria continues to expand.

The Kroger Co.  is recalling its Simple Truth Organic Mixed Vegetables. The product was sold by King Soopers and City Market and other Kroger-branded stores in Colorado and 30 other states.

The recall is for the 10 oz. size bag with UPC code 0001111036738 and sell by dates of December 2016 and January 2017. If you have this item, return it to a store for a full refund or replacement. If you have questions, call Kroger at 1-800-KROGERS.

No customer illnesses have been reported from this product. However, the CDC reports that eight people infected with the outbreak strains of Listeria were reported from three states (California, Maryland and Washington) from September 2013 – March 2016.

"Epidemiology and laboratory evidence available at this time indicates that frozen vegetables produced by CRF Frozen Foods of Pasco, Washington, and sold under various brand names are one likely source of illnesses in this outbreak."

Larger recall

The Kroger's recall is part of a larger recall involving all frozen organic and traditional fruit and vegetable products manufactured or processed in the CRF Frozen Foods facility since May 1, 2014, including 358 consumer products sold under 42 different brand names, according to Colorado Department of Health and Environment.

The recalls started April 22 when CRF recalled 11 frozen vegetable products. Then, CRF Frozen Foods expanded its recall to include all frozen organic and traditional fruit and vegetable products manufactured or processed in CRF Frozen Foods’ Pasco facility since May 1, 2014.

The list of brand names include O Organics, Live Smart, Organic by Nature, Pantry Essentials, Safeway Kitchen, Trader Joe's and others. See the full list of products here.
