Here's a great way to get your kids to read more during the summer break from school. Local libraries, book stores and even restaurants offer prizes for kids who read.
Barnes & Noble
Kids who read any eight books this summer and record them in a Summer Reading Journal from Barnes & Noble, can bring the journal to a B&N store between Aug. 1 and Aug. 31, 2019 for a free reading adventure. Learn more and get the journal here.
Chuck E. Cheese
Set a reading goal for your child and when they achieve it, give them a Chuck E. Cheese Super Student Award, good for 10 free play points. There are other ways for kids to earn prizes on that same page.
Amazon
Kids who read eight books and bring their list to a store by Sept. 10 get one of three books for free. Learn more here. There's an Amazon Books store in Cherry Creek and an Amazon 4-Star Store at Park Meadows.
Local libraries
The Jefferson County Libraries summer reading program starts June 1. Kids read, log minutes and earn prizes. Learn more here.
The Denver Public Libraries Summer of Adventure program starts May 31. Kids get an Adventure Guide to record their activities and get a free book and a finishing prize after all 12 activities are completed. Each participant will also be eligible for weekly drawings for family passes to cultural institutions and entertainment centers at all branch locations.
