DENVER – As the holiday season approaches, several companies are gearing up for what is expected to be a busy shipping season.

UPS announced Wednesday it is hiring more than 2,500 people in the Denver metro area. The seasonal hiring will help support the anticipated increase in package volume that will begin in November and continue through January, the company said in a news release.

The company says the openings are a combination of seasonal and permanent jobs, which are primarily package handlers, drivers and driver-helpers.

Tractor-trailer driver jobs start at $32.00 per hour, and seasonal driver jobs start at $18.75 per hour. Pay for package handlers is between $10.20 and $11.00 per hour plus a $200 weekly attendance bonus, and driver-helpers start at $15.00 per hour.

Interested job seekers can easily apply for holiday season and permanent opportunities by visiting the company's website. Applicants must apply online.
