Scammers in the metro area are using Dent Doctors of Denver’s name to scam people out of their hard-earned money.

The scammers targeted at least 10 victims recently, and offered to repair their dents only if they paid up front. Lee Fishbein, who owns Dent Doctors of Denver, is outraged these scammers are tarnishing his company’s name.

Fishbein said the scanners drive two separate trucks that have a magnet sign on it with the "Dent Doctor" imprinted on it.

"The trucks are brand new with temporary permits on them,” Fishbein said.

Fishbein added one victim ended up paying the scammers $1,200 and another victim paid $300 upfront. He said the work the scammers had done on the dented cars has damaged the cars beyond repair.

It looks like paste and it looks like it is just skimmed on there, it's disgusting looking," said Fishbein.

Before the scammers leave, they hand out a fake business card with the name "Dent Doctor" and "Joseph" printed on it, claiming they would return to finish the job. Victims then dial the number and discover it’s not accepting calls.

Several victims have reported the crime to police and hope surveillance video at the parking lots where victims were targeted help police find the scammers.
