DENVER – Hunters who missed out on big game licenses this year have another chance Tuesday to nab one of more than 50,000 leftover licenses for this year.
Leftover big game licenses went on sale Tuesday at 9 a.m. Colorado Parks and Wildlife says there are nearly 5,000 bear licenses, 8,400 deer licenses, 29,100 elk licenses and more than 7,400 pronghorn licenses available.
Also on the leftover list are a few dozen turkey licenses for the upcoming season, which starts Sept. 1.
Colorado Outdoors has a guide for hunters on how to strategically pick your licenses by region.
If you miss out on getting a license on leftover day, reissued licenses will start appearing on the leftover list starting Aug. 14, and over-the-counter licenses go on sale on Thursday, Aug. 9.
