Whoever said nothing in life is free... we are proving them wrong. Denver7 found ways to pay zero, zilch, nada for everything from food to fixes to fun activities.

"I think people are surprised about how many things you can get for free these days," said Laura Daily with Mile High On the Cheap; she does a workshop on "Fabulous Freebies" in the Denver area.

Free Groceries

While shopping at King Soopers, you can find something free every week.

The Free Friday download on King Soopers' websiteor app is good for two weeks.

"This week, it's Black Forest Gummy worms, and something new coming this Friday," said Kelli McGannon, a spokeswoman for King Soopers.

While you are there, McGannon says grab a free cookie from the bakery shelves.

"They are for kids of all ages," she said.

For coupon cutters, King Soopers and Safeway double the value of printed coupons, up to one dollar.

So, if you have a coupon for 50 cents off Colgate toothpaste when it goes on sale for a dollar, you only pay a few cents sales tax.

"What did I save?" asked Daily, showing off her receipt. "100 percent!"

Free Attractions

Wouldn't it be nice to get free passes to museums, state parks and attractions?

Well, libraries aren't just for books and movies anymore.

"It's been a great way to expand the horizons for our patrons," said Sara Van Holbeck, with the Aurora Public Library.

Aurora Public Libraries have week-long memberships for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Colorado State Parks and More.

Here is one example: http://odyssey.aurora.lib.co.us/search/?searchtype=X&SORT=D&searcharg=DENVER+MUSEUM+OF+NATURE+AND+SCIENCE&searchscope=2

Plus, other cities have passes to other cool attractions you can check outwithout living in the city.

"The beauty of Colorado libraries is you can join as many as you wish and you don't have to live there. Sign up for all of them," said Daily.

On top of that, many libraries now provide the streaming service Hoopla for free movies, TV shots and hard-to-find music, including Prince's albums.

Free Movies

Just about every film showing in Denver has a sneak preview with free passes, said Daily.

And here are some sites to look for them: GoFoBo.com, FoxSearchlightScreenings.comfilmclub.landmarktheatres.com and SeeItFirst.net.

But yes, there is a catch.

"Just like the airlines, movie previews are overbooked," said Daily. "You want to get there maybe an hour early to get in line."

Free Services

There's usually no line for this freebie: Shops like Big O Tires do free air pressure checks, free brake inspections and free fluid checks.

Free Food

It seems like just about every restaurant has a loyalty card these days, right?

Often, you get free food on your birthday month.

But some freebie shoppers have found another advantage to protecting their private information and birth date.

"Some of them join, they'll put in January, some February, some they'll put in April," said Daily. "So, they get free stuff all year long."

Free Stuff at the Mall

Sephora, Bare Minerals and The Body Shop will give a makeup sample for free.

And while you are out, check out free classes from cooking at Williams Sonoma to Yoga at Athleta to home improvement at Lowe's and Home Depot.
