COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- How many times have you bought something, used it once or twice, then it just sits in your garage or basement? A Colorado man has created something that's could save you space and money.

"Me [sic] and my neighbors and everybody else have all this stuff," said Glenn Carlson. "What if we could monetize it? What if we could share it with our neighbors and make money off stuff we already own?"

That's the idea behind his website"Lend Me Your Gear." It's sort of like eBay or Craigslist, but instead of selling your stuff, you lend it out, for a fee. You could lend tools, appliances, camping gear, sports equipment, just about anything.

For the renters, it's a good deal too. Instead of having to buy an expensive item, they can borrow it. Carlson said it's perfect for people who live in small homes, or college students who can't bring all their stuff from home.

Carlson said more people are becoming interested in a sharing economy.

"You have things like Airbnb where people are sharing housing, Uber where people are sharing transportation, and my goal is to have Lend Me Your Gear for all the rest of your stuff.
