Getting kids to do their chores can be a chore in and of itself. Parents are always in search of unique and creative ways to inspire their children. Well, look no further than this mom’s genius note.

What’s one of the most prized possession for kids these days? Access to the internet. So this mom uses it to her advantage. In a photo posted to the image-sharing site imgur with the title “clever motherhood,” you can see a note taped to the front of a refrigerator with the following text:

“Today’s WiFi password can be unlocked by texting a photo of a clean kitchen to mom. Said photograph MUST contain one box of crackers on the counter by the stove (to prevent re-using any previous photos). Thank you for playing.”

The best thing about this note is that, clearly, her kids have already tried to pull one over on her in the past by using an old picture. She’s not gonna let that happen again.

We also like that she’s turning chores into a bit of a game. Who says chores can’t be fun?

It certainly can be a challenge to get kids on board when it comes to helping with chores, but it pays off in the end. Research shows that doing chores in childhood is linked to future professional success.
