DENVER – If you’re looking to shred some snow this Halloween, you might want to head to Wolf Creek Ski Area.
Officials announced Thursday they’ll be open for the season on all Hollow’s Eve. But it’s not just snow you’ll encounter – the ski area will have a haunted house for guests as well.
The ski area will open until dust for anyone wanting to ride Lynx Lift up to the haunted house, so make sure to wear your costume to celebrate the occasion.
Additionally, Ski School, including the Wolf Pups Program, will be available during opening weekend as well, officials said.
Eldora also announced this week they’ll be opening – this year on Nov. 1 – two weeks ahead of schedule.
The ski area’s high-speed, six-person Alpenglow chairlift will start spinning at 9 a.m. and Eldora’s Opening Weekend Kickoff Party will continue throughout the weekend, with giveaways and live music.
Officials did say access to Eldora’s Nordic Center and uphill routes will not be available on opening day. Snowmakers will continue to work as weather permits with the goal of opening more terrain as soon as possible, they said.
Loveland Ski Area opened for the season Friday, and officials said snowmakers will focus their efforts on opening more of the mountain.
“Loveland is optimistic about having additional terrain open very soon,” a spokesperson said in a news release.
Arapahoe Basin became the first ski resort in Colorado to open for the season on Oct. 11, beating Keystone Resort to the punch.
