DENVER – The Denver Police Department unveiled plans Thursday for a bigger, more engaging experience with the public by announcing plans for a new facility located in the heart of the National Western Center redevelopment project.

The new state-of-the-art facility, which will be located at 4700 Brighton Boulevard – across from the National Western Complex – will focus on community outreach efforts with a special emphasis on reaching younger audiences by exposing them to “the various careers, opportunities and challenges involved in modern law enforcement.”

The museum will offer hands-on CSI-type experiments, simulators so people can experience what an officer goes through during life-or-death situations and access to technology used by law enforcement daily.

Officials said their mission is to “foster positive interaction and greater understanding of law enforcement and its role within the community.”
