The Colorado Renaissance Festival starts this weekend in Larkspur

DENVER – Prepare to dress up in period-accurate fashion, bring your appetite for turkey legs and get ready to return to the past, because the 41st annual Colorado Renaissance Festival is coming back to Larkspur this weekend.

For eight weekends, the Colorado Renaissance Festival will be open rain or shine at 650 West Parry Park Avenue in Larkspur. Here’s what you need to know:

When is it taking place?

The Colorado Renaissance Festival is happening Saturdays and Sundays only from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The festival dates are as follows: June 10-11, 17-18, 24-25; July 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 29-30.

Where can I park and how much will it cost to park?

There will be free parking available for all festival goers and a parking ot shuttle to the site of the festival

There’s also handicap parking as well as motor coach and RV parking available.

What’s not allowed in?

You won’t be allowed to bring your pets or outside food and beverages “to the kingdom,” according to event organizers. Backpacks with factory-sealed water bottles are allowed.

What if I have a disability?

All people with disabilities may enter the Festival through the Exit gate (marked by signage). An accessibility brochure is available at the information booth (the first building to the left).

How can I pay to get in for the festival, food?

While Master Card and Visa credit/debit cards will be accepted as methods of payment for tickets to the festival and for festival merchandise, food and beverage are cash-only.

Individual vendors inside will select what method of payment they accept from the public.

Tickets to the festival are priced as follow: Adults $24, Children between 5 and 12-years-old $12, children under 5 get in free.

The ticket booth will close at 5 p.m. both Saturdays and Sundays.

Where can I get discounted tickets?

Discount tickets are available at all Subway restaurant locations throughout the Front Range.

Discounted tickets will be as follows: 2 for 1 Opening Weekend Only Coupon on adult tickets June 10 and 11. Children's Free Coupon, and $3 off Coupon on adult tickets during the months of June and July.

All coupons must be redeemed at the Colorado Renaissance Festival box office in Larkspur. 

Do I need a costume to get in?

No. But seriously, why would you got to a renaissance festival if you’re not willing to fully commit to the atmosphere around you?

If you don’t have a costume ready, they will be available for rental. Ask personnel at the festival where to go to rent a costume once you get there.

Can I bring weapons?

Swords and daggers are allowed as long as they are properly sheathed and peace-tied.

Open or concealed-carry firearms are not allowed at the festival.
