DENVER – It’s little relief for anyone pushed out by rising housing prices but rent increases in Denver over the past year have been slower than the rest of Colorado and the country as a whole according to the latest data from ApartmentList.
ApartmentList’s monthly report shows the median cost of a two-bedroom apartment at $1,340 a month as of June while a one-bedroom rented for $1,060. Those prices are about 0.5 percent higher than the month before and 0.7 percent higher than the same time last year.
Statewide, rents are up by nearly 1 percent year-over-year while the nationwide average is 1.4 percent.
Brighton and Arvada have seen some of the sharpest rent increases across the Denver metro area at 6.4 percent and 4.2 percent year-over-year, respectively. Parker and Aurora have actually seen slight decreases from last June.

Lone Tree: $2,010
Elsewhere in the country, cities that have seen the sharpest increases in rent over the past year include Orlando, Las Vegas, Tampa and Corpus Christi, Texas.
