DENVER -- For the thousands of Coloradans who don't have dental insurance, now’s your chance. A group of local dentists with Risas Dental’s is taking time out to serve those in need this Labor Day.
Five dental locations in metro Denver will offer free dental service to anyone who's in line by 8 a.m.
It's estimated 108 million people, or 1 in 3 Americans, don't have dental insurance.
"Dentistry and dental care is still kind of overlooked,” said Dr. Matt Stevens of Risas Dental. “I don't think it's viewed as a basic health need yet."
Stevens said taking care of your teeth means taking care of yourself.
"Infections in your mouth make any infection or condition in your body worse," Stevens said.
The free event, now in its sixth year, typically draws about 100 people per location.
“We’re probably twice as busy as we usually are," said Stevens.
Each of the five metro Denver locations will offer each patient one of four treatments: basic cleaning, a filling, a complete exam or an extraction.
"It's a way for us to just give back to the community,” said Stevens. “It's a day when we don't have to worry about any of the money. It's purely about giving a gift to people that we know they need."

- Denver south – 2731 W. Evans Ave.
- Aurora south – 3575 S. Chambers Rd.
- Aurora north - 11479 E. Colfax Ave.
The event is from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday.
