DENVER – Colorado’s birthday is coming up and what better way to celebrate than to enjoy our state parks for free.

That’s right.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is footing the bill for anyone who wishes to visit any of our 41 state parks on Monday, Aug. 7.

Free entrance to all state parks is a Colorado Day annual tradition, and while the states celebrates its 141th birthday on Aug. 1, state parks will only offer free entrance on Aug. 7.

Be aware that all other fees, including camping and reservations will remain in effect that day.

So go out and float your boat or kayak, raft a river, view diverse wildlife and hear the song of countless birds. Catch fish – and teach your children how to catch fish -- hike and explore our beautiful state by geocaching, or go horseback riding.
