DENVER – It’s been 65 million years since dinosaurs roamed the earth and after such long wait, you will be able to see them once again thanks to a new exhibit opening this summer at the Denver Zoo.
DINOS! Live at Denver Zoo will feature 21 life-size dinosaurs, 19 of which are animatronic – meaning they will move, roar and interact with guests, a zoo spokesperson said in a news release sent to Denver7.
A fossil dig will also give wannabe paleontologists a chance to discover and excavate dinosaur bones.
The zoo will also house a non-robotic dinosaur that they have dubbed the “Selfie-saurus,” so if you’ve ever wanted to get close to a dinosaur – this is your chance!
“DINOS! will be fun for the entire family to see, but it will also give visitors the opportunity to learn about these extinct beings, while comparing them to the living animals who call the Zoo home,” said Brad Parks, senior director of guest engagement at the Denver Zoo.
Among the many events centered around the exhibit, children will have the opportunity to see if they have what it takes to survive a night amongst the dinos.
Guides will have night vision scopes ready as campers explore the Zoo after hours to discover what dinosaurs and present-day animals have in common, the zoo spokesperson said. You’ll have to visit the zoo’s camps page for more details and to register.
