DENVER – Every weekend, Denver7 compiles a list of some family friendly events you might enjoy. Here are our picks for the 7 best things to do in the Denver metro area this weekend.
1. Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade
What: The Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade falls on St. Patrick’s Day this year – which has only happened five times since the parade started in 1962! So what better way to celebrate than by going to LoDo dressed in all green and show that Irish pride?
Where: LoDo, between 19th Street and 27th Street in Denver.
When: Saturday, March 17, 2018 (on St. Patrick’s Day!) starting at 9:30 a.m.
3. Enjoy Playback Theater West’s first show of 2018
What: Playback Theater West is based on the idea that stories shape our lives. Performers will ask an audience member to share an experience from their lives, which performers will then re-enact in order to capture the essence of that person’s experience.
Where: Curious Theatre Company, 1080 Acoma Street in Denver
What: Did you know that you can take a free tour of Colorado’s very own Hammond’s Candy Factory? Tours run every half-hour Monday through Saturday. Watch candy makers as they hand-pull and twist oversize candy canes, ribbon candy, lollipops and chocolate. It’s educational fun for candy lovers of all ages. And bonus, every tour guest gets a free candy sample.
Where: Hammond’s Candies, 5735 N. Washington Street, Denver, Colo.
What: Farmers’ Markets are generally known to be open for a very limited amount of time in the fall, but that’s not the case for Four Seasons Farmers and Artisans Market in Wheat Ridge, which is open year-round. Come and show for produce, honey, jams and jellies, as well as alpaca wool products, paintings, jewelry and more.
Where: Four Seasons Farmers and Artisans Market, 7043 W. 38th Ave. in Wheat Ridge, Colo.
When: Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m
