Holiday Tours at the Governor’s Mansion – Final Weekend

What: Visit the Governor’s Residence that has been decked out for the holidays. Set your own pace, and tour the entire main floor, including a peek into the Great Hall and the State Dining Room among others.  No reservations are required, but visitors will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis.  The free holiday tours run though this weekend.

Where: Boettcher Mansion, 400 E. 8th Avenue, Denver, Colo.

When: Thursday – Sunday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.  (Tours start every 15-minutes)

Denver Christkindl Market

What:  Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas in Germany at the annual Denver Christkindl Market.  German vendors, as well as local artists, will feature handcrafted items including wood figurines, candles and ornaments.  Tempt your taste buds with traditional German food, and sip warm hot spiced wine while listening to Christmas carols and live German music.  This international Christmas market is a holiday season must do.

Where: Skyline Park, 16th Street Mall & Arapahoe, Downtown Denver, Colo.

Pavilions Holiday Carousel

What: Take a ride on the holiday carousel, which has taken up residence at the Denver Pavilions. Adding to the splendor of the holiday season in Downtown Denver, this family-friendly attraction will bring smiles to faces of all ages.

Hammond’s Candy Factory Tour

What: The holidays are upon us, and what a perfect time of year to visit Colorado’s very own Hammond’s Candy Factory for a free tour.  Factory tours run every half-hour Monday through Saturday.  Watch candy makers as they hand-pull and twist oversize candy canes, ribbon candy, lollipops and chocolate.  It’s educational fun for candy lovers of all ages.  And bonus, every tour guest gets a free candy sample.

What:  Looking for a unique, last minute holiday gift? Well, this annual art market for you.  Featuring fabulous fine art and crafts made in Colorado, the marketplace will be filled with over 100 local artists offering items from ceramics, fiber, glass, and jewelry to paintings, woodworking, photography and more.

What: Celebrate the season at these free family ice shows featuring figure skaters from local competitive skating programs performing to holiday favorites.

Olde Golden Christmas Parade

What:  Where can you see Santa zoom around in his sidecar motorcycle or cheer on the elves as they zip past on unicycles?   At the Olde Golden Christmas Parade of course.  This Saturday’s old-fashioned holiday parade will be the final one for this holiday season.  With cowboys on horses, floats, marching bands, carolers, antique cars and more, this parade is bursting with Colorado charm and authentic holiday spirit.
