Every weekend, Denver7 compiles a list of some family friendly events you might enjoy.  Here are our picks for the 7 best things to do in Denver this weekend.  

Wednesday - Sunday

Denver Auto Show

What: Considering a new car or truck this year?  This is the premier showcase for the newest vehicles to suit every budget and lifestyle.  Compare prices and features, and visit with factory and vehicle representatives in a no-pressure environment.  Plus, you’ll get a sneak peek at selected intros, concepts and tricked out cars.  Stroll the showroom floor, sit in the cars, pop the hoods, and kick the tires.  It’s a great venue for both the serious shopper and the car buff.

Where: Colorado Convention Center, 700 14th Street, Denver, Colo. 

When: Wednesday: 5 p.m.-10 p.m.; Thursday-Friday: 12 p.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; and Sunday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. 

Admission: $12 – Adults; $6 – Kids 6-12 years; Kids under 6 years are free.

Disney on Ice “Dream Big”

What:  The gang is sticking around for one more weekend to take you on an adventurous journey on ice with all your favorite Disney friends, including Mickey and Minnie, the Disney Princesses, Tinker Bell, Olaf, and many more.  There are several performance times throughout the weekend to entertain kids of all ages.

Where:  Denver Coliseum, 4600 Humboldt Street, Denver, Colo.

Madagascar Jr.

What:  This hilarious stage production featuring characters from the blockbuster film is performed entirely by kids.  Presented by the Prairie Playhouse, this small community theater experience can be enjoyed by all ages

Where:  Dickens Opera House, 300 Main Street, Longmont, Colo.

When: Friday - Sunday: Various performance times

Admission: $12 – Adults; $10 – Kids 12 years and under.

Colorado Tartan Day Festival

What:  The Celtic festival season kicks off this weekend.  Stroll this free festival featuring vendor and clan booths, delicious food, historical re-enactments, live music from the Colorado Youth Pipe Band and Dancers, and more. Spend the weekend celebrating the rich Celtic heritage.

Where:  Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont, Colo.

When:  Saturday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Colorado Rockies vs. LA Dodgers

What: It’s opening weekend!  Jump on the bandwagon and see our Blake Street Bombers take on the LA Dodgers.  Single game seats are still available for the Saturday and Sunday games.  

Where:  Coors Field, 2001 Blake Street, Denver, Colo.

When: Saturday: 6:10 p.m.; and Sunday: 1:10 p.m.

Admission: Tickets start at $17 (Rockpile seats are $8)

Glendale Raptors Rugby

What:  You don’t have to travel far to see real heart-pounding rugby action.  Head to Infinity Park in Glendale this Saturday to see in the first home matches of the season.  The Raptor Women’s D1 club takes on the Utah Vipers at 1 p.m. followed by the Men’s D2 team vs. Denver Barbarians at 3 p.m.  Tickets are good for one or both matches.

Where: Infinity Park, 4400 E. Kentucky Street, Glendale, Colo.

When: Saturday: Women’s match at 1 p.m.; Men’s match at 3 p.m.

Admission:  $6 – Adults; Kids 12 years and under are free.
