DENVER -- American Idol is returning to television in 2018 and it’s coming to ABC and Denver7!

The groundbreaking series launched the careers of superstars Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Katharine McPhee, Jordin Sparks, Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry among many others. Over the years, Idol alumni have won 14 Grammys and sold more than 60 million albums.

Now, the search for the next American Idol is coming through Denver.

The American Idol bus is going to be at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, August 26 for open auditions.

Contestants can line up starting at 5am, but registration won’t start until 7am.  The auditions themselves won’t start until 9am.  Producers say they hope to see everyone in line.  In some cities that has taken until after 5pm, so plan on a long day.

You can save yourself sometime by signing up online in advance, but there will still be some paperwork for you to sign the morning of the audition.
