Let’s face it — the cloth face covering is the must-have accessory for 2020 that nobody could have predicted. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and pretty much all the credible medical experts recommend wearing a face mask to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

So yes, this particular accessory serves an important purpose. But it doesn’t have to be boring. Many retailers are offering face coverings in bright colors and eye-catching patterns. And Etsy shop StitchyStitchDesigns shows how you can make a statement with your face covering with a little help from your canine bestie. It sells matching reusable face masks and dog bandanas, meaning pet owners can stay safe while getting their twinning game on.

Each matching mask and bandana set sells for between $15 and $19. A custom design option is also available to let you personalize your accessories with your monogram or your dog‘s initial. The shop says it customizes each bandana according to the dog’s breed and weight, so you can rest assured that your pooch is comfortable. In some cases, you can also purchase pet hair bows or add on a scrunchie.

All items are reusable, machine-washable and 100% cotton. The face masks have adjustable straps and consist of two layers of fabric, creating a filter pocket for protection.

A wide range of styles of face masks and bandanas are available, from polka dots and rainbow print to tie-dye and flamingos. Disney fans can even get a Minnie Mouse-style mask and bandana set.

You can also buy the masks separately for between $8 and $10 and the bandanas for between $7 and $10 — if you and your furry friend can’t agree on your favorite design.

Though well-fitting bandanas are perfectly safe for pets when worn around the neck, the CDC warns that face masks should not be worn over pets’ mouths and nose, as covering their face could cause them harm.
