You can now buy Arby’s deli meat by the pound, so get ready to re-create your favorite sandwiches from the fast-food chain at home.

For a limited time, Arby’s is selling its sliced roast turkey, ham and corned beef in half-pound and pound packages at nine Atlanta-area locations as part of a marketing test. The meat is sliced on-site and is priced at $4.99 for a half-pound and $8.99 for a full pound.

“It’s not a gimmick,” Arby’s Chief Marketing Officer Patrick Schwing told CNN Business. “It’s about meeting an unmet need. We never felt compelled to do it until now because we know we can deliver a high-quality product with a great convenience versus going into a deli or grocery store.”

This purchase option will be offered through the end of September. However, if the trial goes well, Arby’s will consider rolling out the sale of packaged meat nationwide. The company may also add other meats to the lineup.

“This idea was born from Arby’s desire to innovate during a difficult time to best serve our customers,” Schwing told NBC’s “Today” in a statement. “Through this offering, we are able to provide a product that not only have our guests repeatedly asked for, but we can do it in an easy, socially-distant drive-thru setting. We are excited to see a positive response thus far and look forward to using this test to determine if and when the program can be scaled to additional markets.”

In the wake of the pandemic, other restaurants have also introduced new offerings as customers opt to eat more meals at home. More places are offering takeout and delivery, but they’re also supplementing with new and innovative products and services during this unprecedented time.

Panera has been selling milk, breads, yogurt, fresh produce and other essential groceries. The company tweeted about the grocery program on April 8:

Subway is currently offering groceries, as well as delivery and family-sized takeout specials, at more than 1,500 stores in 35 states. The company says more participating locations are being added regularly. Are you taking advantage yet?
