Jackie Crea grew up in Los Angeles, California and graduated from the University of California, San Diego where she started her journalism career as a freelance writer.

She comes to Denver7 from a station in Houston, TX where she covered the local Super Bowl and the year-long preparation led by law enforcement and city leaders to ensure the city was ready.

Jackie covered two major floods that caused tremendous damage and claimed lives, and a tropical storm. She and her photog continued to file reports and do live-shots while stranded on the highway overnight and through the morning, surrounded by flood water during the Memorial Day 2015 floods. She was sent to Dallas to cover the shooting deaths of five police officers, reported on the Sandra Bland case. She broke a story about an adoptive mother severely abusing her seven special needs kids for years, after both law enforcement and CPS missed the warning signs.

Before Houston, she was previously the weekend anchor at a station in El Paso, Texas where she was a one-man band: reporter and producer! She reported on immigration issues, the violence in Juarez, and military life, including President Obama's visit to Fort Bliss.
