Denver7 is proud to support the Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado’s Leadership and Legacy Achievement Gala and Fundraiser on Tuesday, Sept. 22. This year’s event can be streamed on your television, computer or preferred technology device.

This event will celebrate 13 years of UCLF championing equity, serving in the community’s interest and their primary work: promoting the leadership development of Colorado’s emerging Black and African American leaders.

ULFC prepares leaders to contribute and diversify boards and commissions, and ensures ULFC leaders are engaged politically and civically, while excelling professionally. This year’s gala celebration will honor leaders who have exemplified excellence in leadership, business, and service, while leaving a legacy for future leaders to follow. Organizations and advocates for change will also be celebrated for their commitment to service, equity and inclusion, and making impactful contributions.

Since their founding in 2007, ULFC has successfully graduated nearly 370 leaders, provided $150,000 in scholarships for program participants, completed 35 community service projects, and has cultivated African American elected officials, CEOs, philanthropic giving organizations, board members, and much more. Their mission is to prepare the next generation of leaders today and to create a pipeline of talented leaders ready to serve, promote, affect change and work to ensure Colorado’s workforce reflects its communities.

With a core principle of servant leadership ULFC has also been very responsive in the community. This year they have supported high school youth attending HBCU tours, provided scholarships to graduating 2020 seniors, provided nearly $100,000 in grants and support to community members and small businesses affected by COVID-19, and have been a focused voice on equity, inclusion, and the experience of Blacks and African Americans.
