The Littleton Public Schools Foundation (LPSF), a Littleton-based nonprofit organization committed to funding educational and mental health programs within the Littleton Public Schools (LPS) district, will host its Spirit Celebration event online from May 9-16, 2020. Denver7 is a proud sponsor of the event.

With the current climate of canceled classroom learning, the implementation of distance learning, families, as well as educators, are doing their best to adjust in these challenging times. The school district is experiencing unforeseen increases in needs for food assistance, internet connectivity and mental health resources for students, not to mention what’s needed for next school year.

This annual fundraiser has become more important than ever before. With the emerging and ongoing needs within the district, the funds raised at this year's event may be the most impactful yet. “We know that our students will need mental health resources and support due to their transformed reality related to COVID- 19 and we want to be able to provide funds to support these services,” said Littleton Public Schools Foundation Executive Director, Beth Best.

The Spirit Celebration has been transformed into a week-long event which begins Saturday, May 9 with the opening of the silent auction. Throughout the week the event will highlight stories of some of the heroes who have emerged within the school district as well the incredible acts of kindness within our community. The inspirational week will end on Saturday May 16 at 7:00 p.m. with a live-streamed virtual event to include a message from LPS Superintendent, Brian Ewert, a paddle-raise for student mental health and a live auction.
