Up with People is a global education organization that empowers young people to be positive agents of change in their communities and the world. They are hosting their 9th Annual Gala on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at Infinity Park Event Center from 5:30 to 10 p.m. The event features a cocktail reception, three-course dinner, silent auction, distinctive appeal, a high-energy, live performance by the international UWP cast and an award presentation honoring a values-driven, local partner.
The 2020 Up with People President’s Award is being presented to the Global Chamber Denver and Jeffrey Campos in recognition of the extraordinary impact that the organization has had on the Denver community. The Global Chamber Denver has impacted the lives of countless Denverites by exposing them to the many international programs, events, and services that are offered to the Denver community by leaders from some of the world’s most successful companies. Past honorees include but are not limited to The First Lady of Denver, Mary Louise Lee, Cleo Parker Robinson, Kiwanis International, Peter Coors, Sue Anschutz Rodgers and Michael Shaw.
The evening also pays tribute to the more than 22,000 UWP alumni and their life work, raises scholarships for program participants, and recognizes eminent individuals in the Denver area, nationally and internationally for their contributions to our global community.
Through a unique blend of music, social action, and international travel, UWP impacts communities for the better while providing youth the knowledge and experience they need for today’s complex global environment. For more than 50 years Up with People has been breaking down cultural barriers and enhancing understanding to help create a more hopeful, trusting and peaceful world.
