Denver Scholarship Foundation presents its Annual Gala, an evening with Geoffrey Canada – featured prominently in Waiting for Superman, and founder of Harlem Children’s Zone – on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Learn more about Canada on DSF’s blog here. Denver7’s Anne Trujillo will emcee the event and the station is a proud supporter of DSF.

Proceeds from the Annual Gala will make it possible for thousands of Denver Public Schools’ graduates to complete a college degree. DSF collaborates with donors, supporters, educators, families, community colleges, universities, and technical colleges to build partnerships that drive resources and talent to support students on their way to the commencement stage at college graduation.

Thanks to the long-standing and generous support of the event’s anonymous presenting sponsor, all event costs are underwritten, and every dollar raised will go directly to scholarships.

Additionally, every dollar donated to the DSF Scholarship Fund will be matched as available by the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative, a program administered by the Colorado Department of Higher Education.

DSF’s Annual Gala has raised millions of dollars to make college possible for thousands of students in Denver. Since 2007, Denver Scholarship Foundation has awarded $38 million in scholarships to more than 6,300 DPS students. Along with the featured speaker, the evening’s program will also highlight the inspirational stories of several DSF Scholars.

The event takes place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center.
