Shock Rout Mystics

(Sports Network) - Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored a game-high 21 points and hauled in nine rebounds to lead the playoff-bound Detroit Shock in an 84-69 victory over the struggling Washington Mystics.

Deanna Nolan tallied 17 points and 10 boards for the Shock, who have won two straight and have already clinched a spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Plenette Pierson and Katie Smith dropped 13 points apiece, with Smith adding eight helpers.

The Shock pulled within 1 1/2 games of the first place Connecticut Sun in the Eastern Conference.

Monique Currie had a team-high 15 points for the Mystics, who have dropped their last five matchups. Alana Beard chipped in 14 points in defeat and Crystal Smith notched 12 points off the bench.
