Former Broncos cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie signs with New York Giants

Free agent and former Denver Broncos cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will play in the secondary for the New York Giants next season.

The Giants announced the signing of 28-year-old Rodgers-Cromartie Monday. He became a free agent last week.

Both teams with a Manning brother at quarterback have made moves to reinforce their defenses during this free agency period. Rodgers-Cromartie is the third member of the secondary to join the Giants in two days. That club also signed cornerback Walter Thurmond and safety Quintin Demps.

Thurmond played for Seattle last season and participated in that team's victory over Denver in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Rodgers-Cromartie has played in 92 games, including 75 starts. He has totaled 239 tackles and 19 interceptions. He was the 16th overall selection in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Cardinals, from Tennessee State.
