The Weld County Sheriff's Office continues to assist the Windsor Police Department in patrolling the area after last week's tornado.Here is a look at the calls deputies handled between Monday afternoon and Tuesday at noon:08-2495 This case involved a two-car injury accident in the 700 block of Walnut Street. A 74-year-old male was cited for making an unsafe U-turn in front of another vehicle.08-2496 During the afternoon hours, three unknown juveniles entered a damaged home in the 300 block of Amber Drive. This home was damaged by the tornado. The juveniles damaged the home by breaking light fixtures. Officers also found holes in the basement walls that were not caused by the tornado. No arrests have been made and the case is open.08-2500 A 38-year-old male was arrested for child abuse in the 100 block of Ivy Court. The male allegedly grabbed his 9-year-old son by the throat. A struggle ensued and the juvenile hit the garage door, causing him pain.08-2505 At approximately 7:45 p.m., a Windsor police officer was flagged down by a member of the National Guard who said there was a man with a gun near a cul-de-sac off of Cornerstone Drive. The officer located the male and initially observed no weapon. The officer was approached by a citizen who stated the male had been drinking and threatened his children with a shotgun. Further investigation by the officer revealed the male did in fact have a weapon prior to their arrival. The officers also learned the male was concerned that his property was being damaged by the juveniles. Randall Swann, 50, of Windsor, was arrested on charges of felony menacing, prohibited use of weapons and booked into the Weld County Jail.Here is a look at the calls deputies handled between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon:08-2524 A suspicious activity call around 5:45 p.m. resulted in officers being sent to a home in the 100 block of Chimney Park. It was discovered that someone had entered the home, which was under repair, through the back door. Nothing was taken or damaged.08-2528 Around 8 p.m., a 31-year-old male was cited for violating the Greenriver Ordinance as he was attempting to sell home siding in the 1200 block of Creekwood Court.08-2529 A 31-year-old male was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Garden Drive and Canyon Court. Crager Lashalle was contacted by officers for a traffic violation. Crager was cited and released to a responsible party.08-2530 An officer attempting to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation at Highway 257 and Weld County road 72 reported the vehicle pulled to the shoulder of the road and then accelerated at a high rate of speed. The officer stopped chasing the vehicle and reported the vehicle was last seen travelling east on Highway 392.08-2531 A suspicious vehicle call was initiated in the 1200 block of Automation Drive when Colorado National Guard attempted to contact the occupant of a vehicle parked behind a building. The vehicle appeared to be occupied and had the lights off even though it was 10:30 p.m. When Guard members attempted to contact the occupant(s) of the car it drove away quickly. Guard members safely followed the vehicle but it increased speeds traveling north on Weld County road 19, then west on Weld County road 74. Guard members were able to obtain a license plate and Windsor police are continuing the investigation.
