Woman killed, two others critically injured as car hits abandoned F-250 early near I-70, Wadsworth

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - A car hits an abandoned truck on Interstate 70 near Wadsworth that leaves one woman dead and two others injured early Saturday morning.

The driver of the car was on the westbound on-ramp to I-70 from southbound Wadsworth, when the vehicle struck an abandoned Ford F-250 on the side of the road around 6:58 a.m., according to Arvada police.

The truck was on a jack.

One woman died in the crash, according to Arvada police. The male driver was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital in critical condition. The other male passenger was also transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Westbound I-70 from Wadsworth to Kipling is down to two lanes and southbound Wadsworth to westbound I-70 is closed as crews investigate the accident.

The name of the woman who was killed has not been released.
