VALLECITO, Colo. - Members of the task force looking for Dylan Redwine began executing a warrant to search the home of the missing boy's father on Thursday morning. Dylan vanished ten days ago.

Dylan Redwine's father, Mark Redwine, reported the 13-year-old missing midday Nov. 19 from his house in the Vallecito area, about 22 miles northeast of Durango. The father had left the boy at home around 7:30 a.m. while he went into town to run errands, said La Plata County Sheriff's spokesman Daniel Bender.

Bender announced that the home on CR 500 in Vallecito was being searched by about 15 members of the Dylan Redwine Task Force, consisting of La Plata County sheriff's deputies, and agents from the FBI and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

"The Sheriff's Office is not calling Mark Redwine a suspect," said Bender, "However, since that house was the last place Dylan was seen, it is only prudent to do a more thorough search of that house and property for any information that can help direct us to Dylan."

Authorities set up white tents and a trailer outside the house Thursday morning. Investigators wearing white suits made trips in and out of the house and a travel trailer parked at the home, DurangoHerald.com reported.

Authorities also towed Mark Redwine’s two pickup trucks from his property to an undisclosed location where they'll be processed.

Bender told the Herald that Mark Redwine has allowed investigators to look through his house on previous occasions.

“But the meticulous nature of the search today required a search warrant,” Bender said.

Bender said Wednesday that the task force had concluded Dylan didn't run away.

"Investigators are no longer looking at the possibility of Dylan being a run-away, but we still view this as a search and not a recovery effort," Bender said.

Bender did not say what led them to that conclusion.

The task force is continuing to canvass the area surrounding the Vallecito Reservoir, work they started on Nov. 27. As of Thursday, Bender said, 50 investigators and officers are involved in the search.

Consequently, Bender and the task force requests that members of the public do not conduct their own door-to-door searches. Anyone who is approached by investigators who are not accompanied by a uniformed officer are encouraged to ask for proper law enforcement identification.

The Task Force is asking the general public if they have any recreational video footage that includes vehicles traveling on main routes between Durango and Vallecito Lake, taken between 6 p.m. on Nov.  18 through noon on Nov.  19, to call dispatch at 970-385-2900 to make an arrangements to get a copy of the footage to the task force.
