DENVER - Denver police have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the stabbing death of an RTD bus passenger.
Isaiah Moreno was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of first-degree murder, according to Denver Police.
Moreno appeared in Denver County Court Wednesday to be advised of the charge he faces. The defendant had close-cropped brown hair and a beard and wore a yellow jail uniform. He is being held without bond in Denver Jail.
The stabbing happened on the number 16 RTD bus near Colfax Avenue and Federal Boulevard at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said. .
When officers arrived, they found Estevan Ruiz, 39, suffering from a stab wound to the neck. He was taken by ambulance to Denver Health Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police said the stabbing is being investigated as a homicide. A spokesman from RTD said a full internal investigation into the matter will begin when a police report is released.
