Police: Shoplifter used bicycle as getaway vehicle, was arrested a few blocks away

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A shoplifting suspect who tried to use a bicycle as a getaway vehicle was arrested by Colorado Springs Police officers on Thursday night.

Workers at Walmart called police and said a man took items from the store without paying for them.

The workers told police that when a loss prevention officer tried to stop the man, he pulled a gun and ran off.

Store management said they spotted the suspect behind the store unlocking his bicycle. When one of the managers approached the man, he allegedly opened his jacket displaying two knives and a gun in a holster. The managers said the man then rode off.
