Parker resident escapes house fire

PARKER, Colo. - A Parker resident was able to escape their burning home Thursday afternoon.
South Metro Fire Rescue Authority firefighters were called to the 11000 block of Brownstone Drive just after 5 p.m. Firefighters said heavy fire was coming from the back of the garage and there was smoke in the home.
The fire was extinguished in about 20 minutes by 25 firefighters.
Investigators were looking into the cause of the fire.
South Metro Fire reminds residents to change the batteries in their smoke alarms when they change their clocks this weekend.
