PUEBLO, Colorado - A 21-year-old man charged in a fatal shooting at a Pueblo park has been sentenced to 42 years in prison.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports District Judge David Crockenberg sentenced Devin Downey on Friday for the Feb. 12, 2011, death of 45-year-old Pedro Solis-Astorga. Downey struck a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Police say Downey was smoking marijuana in the park when Solis-Astorga approached him. Investigators also suggested Downey shot the man because he wanted to avoid the disclosure of his sexual activities in the park.
