Vail, Colo. - Lindsey Vonn skied at Vail Thursday morning.
She wrote on Facebook that "it was awesome" and she used the hastag "I WILL."
It was the first time Vonn had skied since she crashed at Copper Mountain on Nov. 19. In that crash, she suffered a partial tear to her right ACL, a mild strain to her right knee, minor facial abrasions and scapular contusions, according to Vonn's spokesman Lewis Kay.
On Facebook she wrote:
"First day back on snow since my crash and it was awesome! I'm very thankful for many things this year (family, loved ones, great fans) but at this moment I'm happy to be on the mountain doing what I love- skiing!! Happy thanksgiving everyone! And a special thx to @vailmtn for opening the lifts early for me xo Lindsey#IWILL"
Vonn had the right knee surgically repaired earlier this year after she shredded her anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligaments in a crash at the world championships in Schladming, Austria, in February.
Vonn started snow training again in Chile at the start of September. She skied in Austria last month.
Vonn has a home in Vail.
