Hundreds participate in Martin Luther King Junior marade in Denver

DENVER - Hundreds of people turned out for the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. marade in Denver.
The marade is a combination of march and parade. Participants walked down Colfax Avenue from City Park to Civic Center Park near the state Capitol on Monday.
King's birthday was declared a state holiday on 1984.
Participants included police chief Robert White. The Denver Post reported that the family of Marvin Booker, who died while in Denver's jail in 2010 while restrained, held a press conference before the marade began.
Their lawsuit over his death had been set to go to trial on Tuesday but has been delayed by an appeal filed by the city.
