Florence Mayor Charles Giebler found dead in home

FLORENCE, Colo. - The mayor of Florence has been found dead in his home.
Police told KRDO TV the body of 52-year-old Charles Giebler was found in his home at 229 E. Main Street Friday afternoon.
It's not yet known how he died,, police said. An autopsy will be conducted on Saturday.
Florence City Councilwoman, Nichole Prickett released this statement:
"Florence City Council would like to express with deep regret and sorrow, the loss of our dear friend and Mayor, Charles Giebler. His easy going demeanor, witty sense of humor and honest nature will be sorely missed. He was a true citizen of Florence, who always put his community first. We are grateful for the opportunity to spend time and to know him. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as we come to terms with this great loss. May he rest in peace."
Giebler is survived by a grown son and daughter.
Florence is a town of about 4,000 southeast of Canon City.
