El Paso County Sheriff's Office asks for help locating missing woman

'Evidence of disturbance' found at woman's home

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. - The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a 31-year-old woman after she made a disturbing phone call to her mother.

On Thursday, at approximately 5:19 a.m., deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office went to 1188 Cree Drive to check the welfare of Rebecca Smith.  Rebecca’s mother had contacted the sheriff’s office after receiving a disturbing phone call from her daughter.

Deputies arrived at the home and were unable to make contact with anyone.  As a result, a search warrant was executed and evidence of a disturbance was found, the sheriff's office said in a news release.  Throughout the day, multiple attempts were made to locate Rebecca and her boyfriend, 37-year-old Seth Ebert, who is a person of interest in her disappearance.  It is believed one or both could be driving Rebecca’s green Mercury Mountaineer with Colorado license plate 800-VTA.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Rebecca Smith, Seth Ebert, or the vehicle described above is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 719-390-5555.
