Deputies to update public on missing lingerie model case

Kara Nichols last seen Oct. 9

Deputies said they will update the public Tuesday on the lingerie model who went missing six weeks ago.

Kara Nichols, 19, was last seen Oct. 9 when she left Colorado Springs to go to work in Denver.

Deputies said she was normally in regular contact with her family and friends. Kara’s father, Paul Nichols, is expected to speak with the media Tuesday.

El Paso County Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. Joe Roybal said investigators are concerned that Nichols'  disappearance could be suspicious.  They issued an alert for her on Nov. 1.

A page on ModelMayhem.com lists Kara Nichols as a model looking for work.

"I've done mostly lingerie shoots so far but I'm extremely open minded," her bio states.

Roybal said Nichols was last believed to be driving to Denver for a modeling job when she disappeared. She also worked at a Colorado Springs restaurant.

Nichols is described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 120 pounds with blond hair and green eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Cliff Porter at 719-520-7227.
