DENVER, Colo. - Three 10-year-old girls in Denver set out to raise $50 for Colorado flood victims by collecting dimes at their school -- but they ended up raising almost $1,200 -- in just one week!
Andia, Brooklyn, and Remi came up with the idea to make donation cups to put in each classroom at Van Dellen/Denver Christian School, parent Lisa Hoogendoorn Daniel told 7NEWS.
The girls called their project "Dimes for Disasters."
Daniel posted pictures of the girls' progress on their project from the design phase to giving the $1,179.07 check to the American Red Cross.
The girls stopped by Young Americans to count the coins, Daniel said, and before they left they were asked to join the young entrepreneurial competition in December!
