Copper Mountain, Keystone ski resorts open for ski season

DENVER - Fresh snow fell in the mountains overnight, just in time for opening day at two Colorado ski resorts -- Copper and Keystone.

Keystone Resort is boasting four inches of fresh powder in the last 24 hours. Copper Mountain is reporting five inches of new snow.

Copper opens with top-to-bottom skiing and riding off the American Eagle chairlift and in the Easy Rider learning area. Woodward's Eagle Terrain Park will also be open.

Several U.S. Ski Team hopefuls are expected to practice at Copper this month.

Three other Colorado ski resorts are open -- Loveland, Arapahoe Basin and Wolf Creek.
