AURORA, Colo. - Aurora police managed to stop the driver of a Jeep on northbound I-225 who is accused of hitting multiple vehicles Tuesday morning, causing traffic to be at a standstill for most of the morning.
The first crash happened south of Parker Road at approximately 7:19 a.m.
Aurora police said the Jeep driver rear-ended another car, pushing it into a second car and then a third.
"The Jeep then left the scene and continued north on I-225 to the north of Parker Roadd and again rear-ended another car pushing it into two more cars," Aurora Police Lt. Jeff Turner said.
The driver of the Jeep and at least one other driver were taken to the hospital.
Police said they are looking into whether the Jeep driver was under the influence of some intoxicating substance.
