Experimental aircraft crashes at Erie Municipal Airport, pilot hurt

Motorized glider fell 20-30 feet

ERIE, Colo. - The pilot of an experimental aircraft was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after the glider crashed at the Erie Municipal Airport Friday afternoon.

The motorized glider fell about 20-30 feet,  and the pilot suffered a leg injury,  said Mountain View Fire Deputy Chief Steve Pischke.

The pilot, who has not been identified, was transported to Denver Health.

Firefighters with Mountain View Fire responded to the crash and were assisted by Lafayette Fire, Pischke said.
