STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. -- Thousands of people have taken to the streets across the nation this week to protest Donald Trump's election.

But in Steamboat Springs, a group of men took to the streets on Saturday to protest something entirely different.

Holding white cardboard signs that read "Powder to the People," "#MakeColoradoSnowAgain," "Not MY Season" and "More Snow, Less Hate," four men stood at the corner of 5th Street and Lincoln Avenue in downtown Steamboat Springs encouraging drivers to honk if they agreed.

"There’s a lot of negativity in the world and what we really need is to focus on the topics... and that’s our season,” one of the men told Shannon Lukens, a news director for a group of radio stations in Steamboat Springs.

"We need more snow and less hate in this world," said another.
