DENVER - Severe thunderstorms on Tuesday lit up the sky over the Denver metro with lightning and pummeled those below with hail as large as golf balls.
7NEWS Chief Meteorologist Mike Nelson says an easterly flow backed up into Denver, bringing with it some intense storms.
Meteorologist Matt Makens, who is out chasing the storms, was in the Bennett area and reported seeing incredible lightning activity in that area.
Soccer fans at Dick's Sporting Goods Park who were enjoying the Colorado Rapids game against the Atlanta Silverbacks, were temporarily evacuated from the stands due to the storm.
