The weekend snow was a nice change from the dry weather that we've grown accustomed to this early January. Most of the major ski resorts picked up between 5 to 10 inches of fresh powder. They will see another chance for snow before the week is through! In the meantime, mild temperatures are upon Colorado. Most spots in the metro area climbed to the mid to upper 40s on Monday afternoon.
Brief Statewide Warm Up
Another day of sunny and dry weather is in store for Tuesday. It will be even warmer with highs in the low to mid-50s; the mountains will find highs will be in the upper 20s to mid-30s under sunny skies.
Next Storm Wednesday
There is another chance for snow on Wednesday as a strong cold front pushes across Colorado. This system will bring a substantial drop in temperatures along with a blustery north wind. Highs will only reach the upper 20s in the morning and fall to the teens by Wednesday afternoon. At the present time, it looks as though the storm could produce 4 to 8 inches of snow for the mountains with lesser amounts to the east of I-25 and in the metro area. The snow will be brief but like this past weekend, there still could be enough to impact travel. Stay tuned to the 24/7 Weather Center for updates!
