Record Low Tied For Sunday

Brr? Sure. Chilly? Maybe. Cold? Nah.

Denver tied the record low temperature Sunday morning, dipping to 47 degrees shortly before 6 a.m. The previous record low of 47 degrees was set in 1978.

Expect cooler weather Sunday, thanks to a cold front that pushed through the state overnight.

Temperatures will reach the mid 70s by Sunday afternoon, well below the average high of 86 degrees.

There is a chance of late-day storms, especially over the northeastern plains of Colorado by Sunday evening. Some of the storms may become severe. If they do, chances are it will be hail that will be the primary threat.

If youÂ’re heading to into the high country for the afternoon, keep an eye out for storms by early afternoon.

The cooler weather sticks around for Monday, with highs in the low to mid 70s.

Severe storms are possible on Monday and Tuesday.
